NEW YORK - Following months of rumors and speculations, Samsung is finally ready to unveil its follow up device to the Samsung Galaxy S III. The Korean giant has scheduled an event on March 14 at the famous Times Square in New York to remove covers off the much awaited smartphone. The banners put up on Times Square suggest that the phone will be called Galaxy S 4.

The Korean flagship is being rumored to sport a 4.99″ Super AMOLED 1080p display and run on the latest version of Android Jelly Bean 4.2 with an overlay of Samsung’s Touchwiz Nature 2.0 skin. The phone will be powered by an Exynos 5 1.8GHz quad core processor along with 2GB RAM. It will also feature a 13 megapixel snapper and come with memory configurations of 16GB, 32GB and probably even a 64GB version with expandable memory.

This being the first episode of Samsung’s Unpacked event of 2013, we do have a lot coming our way from the Korean company. The competition is getting tough with HTC launching HTC One, Sony’s Xperia Z doing well in a lot of markets and LG showing that it is not far behind with the LG Optimus G Pro. It goes to see whether the new offering will be able to outsell it’s predecessor, the Galaxy S III.
