Have you every been stuck in a cookie recipe rut? A sugary sweet dead end? Tired of baking plain oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, or just peanut butter cookies? I’m not saying those cookies aren’t delicious on their own, but for some of us our taste buds crave something more. Well I created this recipe just for you. Unlock your taste buds with dark chocolate chips with pecans and never look back!

Ingredients: 

2 Sticks Unsalted Butter

1 Cup Packed Brown Sugar

1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar

2 Eggs

2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

1 teaspoon Almond Extract

2 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour

1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda

1 teaspoon Kosher Salt

2 Cups Dark Chocolate Chips

1 Cup Chopped Pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. With a beater cream together butter and sifted brown sugar in a large bowl. Add sifted granulated sugar. Make sure all the sugar is dissolved into the creamy mixture. With a beater separately add the two eggs into the mixture, and then add the vanilla and almond extract last.  Mix well.

In a separate medium bowl sift the flour. Add in the medium bowl baking soda and salt. Mix together until the baking soda and salt are fully incorporated into the flour.

Add the dry medium bowl into the large bowl. Use a beater to mix them together, careful not to over beat mixture or else it will become tough.

Fold in dark chocolate chips and pecans.

Use a spoon or ice cream scoop to put the dough on a greased cookie sheet or greased small cupcake pan. (The cupcake pan is if you want to ensure your cookies are round. I find it helpful to put wax paper on the cookie sheet before adding the dough to make removing the cookies easier later on.

Place in oven and cook for 8-15 minutes. The cooking time may change based on the size of the cookies. Remove cookies when you can press on middle and they slowly pop back up. Let cool for about ten minutes.
