New designer brand Sheriff and Cherry from Croatia promise to make the world a more colourful place in summer 2013.
It is not too early to invest in a pair of sunnies, with spring approaching there is no better time to stand out with a pair of chic and elegant frames.

This relatively low profile brand have long awaited in the shadows of the big names, choosing this year to really shine. And it’s about time too! Their quality frames and lenses are handmade at their Croatian factory, established in 1948. They claim to give a second birth to original classic shapes from a ‘vintage archive’, playing with colour, graphics and material combinations to produce a classic and elegant collection.

The brands story oozes vintage charm, customising contemporary spirit into classic shapes. Established in 2004, creators Mauro Massarotto and Mark Vallasso discovered an old optical factory in the heart of Croatia that still made lenses for local residents. Swayed by the old school appeal and vintage chic allure the pair set about creating their charismatic collection.

Their cute and quirky beginnings have definitely given the brand a rose tinted feel, stylish and tasteful like a Pinot Grigio Blush. Massarotto describes how the pair envisioned “creating sunglasses for all ages that are classic and functional but at the same time, individual and fun” and this is something I think they have certainly mastered. “Sheriff and Cherry has energy and creativity, a lot of love and passion” says Massarotto, and oh how they do!

From humble beginnings, Sheriff and Cherry are keen to share their adorable vintage inspired creations with the world at affordable prices. A gift to the highstreet; passion and unique craftsmanship without the hefty price tag! “We saw there was a gap in the market for special sunglasses at a competitive price. We like the idea of having something unique and affordable to sell” claims Massarotto.

Special and unique are undoubtedly the perfect words to describe Sheriff and Cherry, and 2013 is definitely looking promising. The brand deserves a return of the love and attention they give to their ranges, and absolutely deliver on their promise to make our lives more colourful, fun and individual.
