It is that time of year again. Fashion lovers, brace yourselves as fashion week dawns upon us. There have been once again outstanding designs, unforgettable shows and of course, a long list of favourite celebrities gracing us with their presence and heightening the excitement.

One celebrity in particular who by no surprise caused a storm was the lovely David Beckham. He was in front row supporting his wife Victoria, with their adorable daughter Harper in tow. The husband and father looked very proud as he watched his wife’s creations take stage and showcase the catwalk and he had reason to be. Victoria Beckham wowed onlookers with perhaps her most impressive collection yet. Her show has received vast amounts of positive feedback and rightly so; the woman really can do no wrong. The clothes were elegant yet relaxed, with soft shaped skirts in warm shades of pink and burgundy, to shift dresses and blouses in black and white. When the show drew to an end, Victoria received her well deserved praise in a simple black trousers and white shirt combination which reflected the whole collection, looking both effortless and classy.

Other stylish faces amongst the list include the beautiful Jessica Alba, who also kept things simple at the Narciso Rodriguez presentation in a black dress, with contrasting white shoes and a clutch bag. Fashion icon Olivia Palermo wore an polo-neck dress and shades when attending the Kaufman Franco show and Rita Ora wowed in an eye-catching printed dress and elegant white blazer at the DKNY 25th Birthday bash.

Many other designers showcased impressive collections for Spring/Summer 2014, including the talented Alexander Wang. Wang paired contrasting mini skirts and pleated skirts, with button shirts and more masculine jackets. There was a lot of variety in the collection, including uniquely structured shirts and tops, subtle patterns, formal styled trousers and beautiful gloves. The colours ranged from soft lilacs, to greys and whites and there were some elegant black pieces, including leather.

All in all, it has been a very busy week in the world of fashion in New York, causing even more excitement for what else is to come from all the other weeks and designers approaching. It is sure to be just as impressive and inspiring for all the fashion lovers worldwide, we can’t wait!
