Television Journalists in DR Congo have been taken into hostage by uprising armed youths. It is reported that the state TV as well as the radio HQ is under attack by these rebels. Two presenters who were live on screen, were under the threat from an armed man who was standing behind them. It was only after this that the feed of the television station was shut down.

A police spokesman however, told the local news agency that: “they are armed with machetes and guns. They have taken reporters hostage. An operation is under way to dislodge them.”

The investigation, as of now, is still being investigated.
