The Valentino brand has continued on its path of world domination in the fashion industry by opening its new flagship store in deluxe shopping mall IAPM in Shanghai, China this week. Wowing designers and fashionistas alike, the second largest of Valentino stores on the planet (the first being in Milan), is a sprawling 7,535-square foot space filled with nothing but gorgeous haute couture and intricately detailed pieces of the fresh Spring collection.
The designs, no matter whether they are adorned with lace, silk or (in the case of one stunning floor length gown) thousands of red beads in the shape of roses, all bore the trademark racy shade of red. With prices ranging from $980 to a staggering $41,000 the pieces seriously show off the talent of creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, who aimed to show off their cultural side by incorporating the deep rouge hue in honour of China and the classic shade of their flag.
The pair described the collection as “A mix of couture and rock – an edgy attitude,” and with the idea that the garments are ‘seasonless,’ they’re sure to be a hit all year round.
