The world of fashion is witnessing a growing trend where different fashion designers and celebrities are co-operating with high street clothes brands. We’ve already seen collections David Beckham for H&M and Rihanna for River Island. Now fashion designer Isabel Marant is producing a collection in collaboration with H&M. Among high street brands, H&M seems to be the one that celebrities and fashion designers are most often drawn to work with.
Isabel Marant is a well-known French designer who launched her own fashion brand in 1994. Despite the fact that it’s a relatively new fashion house, it has already earned a good reputation and high expectations for every subsequent collection. Marant’s wedged sneakers in particular attracted many people who were previously unaware of the brand.
The collection ‘Isabel Marant for H&M’ will be priced higher than the regular H&M clothes. Nevertheless, the anticipation of the collection was extremely high. This collaboration is ideal for people who love Isabel Marant designs but find the prices unaffordable.
Here’s what is in store in the look-book? Marant’s line includes leather trousers in different colours, knitwear, sweatshirts, t-shirts, shoes, boots, dresses, skirts, denim jackets — practically anything you could wish for; all made in Marant’s typically French style. What is also interesting is that Milla Jovovich agreed to be one of the models for this collection, which should add to the demand for these designs.
The collection was launched online on November 14 and a lot of it (if not everything) was sold and even oversold during the first day, clearly illustrating the anticipation for the release of the collection. According to the British H&M website, five days after the launch day, there was barely anything left from the collection in the online store. American and European online H&M shops faced the same situation.
Practically any collection that is created in collaboration with a celebrity or a famous fashion designer gets sold in a matter of days. It is fascinating how excited consumers are keen to buy clothes designed by haute couture designers but sold at lower prices.
If you were one of the many waiting for this collection since the day you saw the first adverts and images from the photo shoot, now is the time to get the last pieces. Don’t miss it!
