A look at the Avengers: Age Of Ultron

It’s been a long time coming, but we have our first (rather sepia) glimpse at what’s in store for us. Or should I say, what Ultron has planned for us, in the next Avengers movie.

Events after Avengers Assemble have affected Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in ways we weren’t exactly expecting. Trusting each other and mentally coping with the job they have is something we’ve seen through the stand alone films for all three big players. These issues seem to be coming to ahead in Age of Ultron, as we see throughout the trailer that the gang aren’t looking too happy as a team.

Not much detail has been given as to how Ultron will progress throughout the film, although right from the beginning Ultron starts his mind games by inhabiting a seeming destroyed drone in Starks pad. Ultron’s chilling voice is from James Spader of The Blacklist and it couldn’t of been a better choice. If this is anything to go by, I’d say every single Avenger is in for a mentally tough time with Ultron.

A haunting rendition of a song taken out of Pinocchio sets the stage for a montage of the protagonists looking at things we aren’t allowed to see yet. These glances seem to revolve around action set pieces with some hints at some character development we might exploring as well. If you look close you can see Black Widow’s silhouette standing in what looks like a dance hall. Finally, we might get some more details about her past in Russia. This in turn means more Hawkeye. Fingers crossed.

Looking past some of the tiny details that we get, here are some points I saw, that you should bear in mind.

1. Hulk is attacking Iron Man. Why? It’s long been rumored that Hulk will end up being launched into space for trying to kill everyone, thus leading to a Planet Hulk movie. In terms of Marvel’s vision, I don’t think that’s likely, as Hulk is more popular than ever thanks to a decent mo-cap. But he may be thrown in the path of the Guardians of the Galaxy crew. The rumor mill is strong on this.

2. If you wait right till the end, very briefly you can see Thor’s arm (armor) laying next to Caps broken shield, which should be near indestructible as it absorbs damage. This is both exciting and kind of worrying. I’m hoping he’s just down for the count, not for good. Caps broken shield may tie in Black Panther, as a brief trip to Wakanda may patch things up.

3. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Let’s just watch them one more time. Shown at the end of Cap:Winter Solider, these two look ready for a fight.

More footage is making it’s way onto the internet as this seems to be the start of the Civil War storyline. For more info look at Marvel’s Facebook page as they made some huge announcements recently. As well as the rest of the internet.

Bring on May 2015!
